Mike Marker has a long, dedicated history of giving back and supporting community events and organizations:

  • Volunteer work at United Way of Central California
  • Judge for Miss Utah/Miss America Scholarship Pageant organization (22 years)

  • Member of Central Wasatch Commission (CWC) Stake Holder Council Transportation Committee (4 years).

Effective Leadership

Mike has the ability to envision a future state, lay out the steps necessary to achieve it, and engage others in the process:

  • Led the effort to upgrade and transform the Training and Leadership Development of a Fortune 500 Company. Changed it from being a cost center to a profit center by marketing its expanded services to the company’s existing customer base.

  • Launched a successful management consultancy firm focusing on improving organization performance through organizational redesign and increased employee engagement.

  • Co-founded and is currently President of Friends of Little Cottonwood Canyon, a nonprofit all-volunteer organization dedicated to implementing common sense solutions to alleveate congestion in Little Cottonwood Canyon.

This has been demonstrated time and again through results achieved in organizational development, work process redesign, and implementation of change initiatives in Fortune 500 Companies across various industries.

Protecting Our Canyon 

Mike is a co-founder and current President of Friends of Little Cottonwood Canyon (FoLCC), a non-profit 501 (c3) organization. FoLCC’s purpose is to protect and preserve for future generations the unparalleled beauty of the canyon from expansive development and overuse.

The organization's motto is “Use but don’t abuse.” In order to raise public awareness, the group has engaged social media, lobbied Capitol Hill, published opinion pieces, and implemented various outreach activities.
